• Worked phone support for a major DSL provider.  Gained a working knowledge of various routers and telephone line equipment.  Acquired specialized helpdesk and data communications training (I.e. asynchronous transfer mode, hub systems, pair gain, frame relay, repeaters, etc.).

 

Charles Washington Inc., Fredericksburg, VA

Intern, July 1998 – May 1999

• Grossed 300+ hours as an intern.  Built personal computers and loaded software onto hard disk.  Replaced faulty computer parts within system units.  Assisted in small LAN installation using 10baseT Nic cards, five-port D-Link hub, cables, and Windows NT 4.0 operating system.

 

C & J Electric Inc., Summerduck, VA

Electrical Apprentice, May 1997 – May 1998

• Managed a staff of 10 temporary workers.  Used schematic drawings to make electrical installs to industrial and residential equipment.  Pulled high voltage cables to wire drawing and Allen Bradley motor drive regulators.  Drove Fork, Scissor, and Genie Boom lifts.  Used various electrical meters, power and manual hand-tools to complete assigned work tasks.
