Untitled by Birdie Kelley

You put my heart together when e'er I feel blue.
That is why I call you my everlasting glue.

T’is not unrequited love that I feel;
Though, our great distance almost makes it such.
We have shared many a casual meal,
But ne'er there seen effects of Cupid much.

Your long, slender fingers I yearn to hold
in more than a plutonic sense.  Your love
has been with me since 'fore the days of old,
But t'is not dictated by one above.

For if we were near, I would have to say
"Come hither, my love; by and by come here."
I do adore thee on this crisp fall day.
E’er I see thee, I love thee more, my dear.
