Origins of the Pinata:

The most common interpretation of the Pinata is that it signifies the struggle of man and his faith. This is symbolized by the stick, in which to destroy the evil spell of passions. The "passions" were originally represented by the seven points of the Pinata (which stood for the seven deadly sins). A man fights blindly against sin, just as he is blindfolded in trying to hit the Pinata, but he can be helped by the directions of those who are not blinded to help him conquer his sinfulness.

A first-year seminarian has a go at the pinata.

The pinata taunts a first-year seminarian.

One of the upper-year seminarians takes on the pinata.

Even the rector took a shot.

Everyone had a laugh.

Before.

After.
