The Common Admission Test - CAT - is the annual entrance test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (located at Ahmedabad, Banglore, Calcutta, Indore, Lucknow and Kozikode). This is an entrance for admission into the Post Graduate Programs (PGP - popularly known as MBA) and other programs such as FPM and ABM which are conducted by the IIMs. After appearing for CAT for the year 2003, there was loads of information about CAT and MBA stashed away on my hard disk. Sharing it with anyone who might find it useful. However, some regional differences do occur. For eg., at Ahmedabad, PT is more popular for classroom coaching than IMS. MOCKCATs IMS has some excellent Mocks. TIME with its All India Mock Cats (AIMCATs) too is pretty good. VFM, to quite an extent and widely participated in. The prep for CAT should be complemented with about 50 Mocks at least. Analysation of papers after solving them is vital. Best Indian Business Schools The 6 IIMs, XLRI, S P Jain, MDI, Jamnalal Bajaj, XIMB, FMS-DU, ICFAI, ITM, IITs, Symbiosis etc are widely regarded as the best in the country. Most Coaching Class websites provide rankings, placement data and stuff. Please visit them for further info. Certain colleges also offer offer specialised courses of great repute. TISS, MICA, IIFM, IIFT, SCMHRD, etc are some of these. Excellent place to begin with! Cat-2003 Yahoogroup Yahoogroup for people who took Cat 2003. Its message archives can be of immense help to future aspirants. Also available are various extremely useful files in the files section which could be of great help. Contains CAT experiences, GD/PI narratives, software, etc etc. Must see!
