A Child, So Alone
By the riverside a sad child cries
Her mother's body lay beside her
The child's soul rapidly dies
Now alone, she will cry for no other
She pounds on her mother's chest
As she shouts into the sky
To be strong, she tries her best
But once again, she begins to cry
She looks up at the dark grey cliff
So beautiful, so gentle, so strange
Yet it can take one's life ever so swift
The child must adjust to the change
To be with her mother, she
Aches from within her heart
She too, climbs the cliff so she can be free
To be with her mother, her death she begins to chart
She climbs the cliff with tears on her cheek
With blood rushing through her veins
She wonders of what she is about to seek
All she wants is to be with her mother again
She steps from a ledge well above the ground
The ground rises at a quickening pace
The world starts to spin around
She wonders about what she will have to face
The moon rises without her tonight
Where she is, no one knows
She went without a fight
We will see without her many tomorrows
