Some random thoughts I have on one of the most tragic days in history and where and why there will be military response.

I dont need to describe the events; we've all seen them over and over again, and we've all shed tears over the tragedy for no man can be human in such a tragedy and not shed a tear over such senseless loss and suffering of innocent people.

I will address the issue of military response and/or response to such an act in a perspective of a country and a government.
Two criteria MUST be removed from the equation in all minds across the world.
First is religion, this is not about religion, this is about violence, terror, murder.
Second, this is not about the United States, this is about a way of life.

This attack is not about a Jihad, there is no holy war, though it will be called for, there is no holy war. This is not about religion nor is this the work of shiite Muslims rather it is a perverse twisted movement of violent fanatacism.
The Koran specifies means of a Holy Jihad and justification for such and only the most perverse thinking could justify such terror.
If it werent so pathetic it would be amusing watching people in the middle east celebrating in the streets over the loss of life suffering in the Unites States while driving down the road in American made vehicles wearing American made clothing.
I saw a video of Taliban militants crushing music records and tapes using a Komatsu made bulldozer. These radicals seem to pick and choose when they like the use of capitalism and when they dont.
Sadaam Hussein enjoyed US capitalism when they aided him fighting Iran. American made military assistance helped him win his war with Iran. He rewarded US assistance by attacking Kuwait and trying to stranglehold the worlds oil supply.
Mr Bin Laden enjoyed US made goods when fighting in cohesion with the Afghan rebels in the early eighties as he was trained/educated in military armaments and was provided military assistance and strategy in resisting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan at that time yet Mr. Bin Laden now considers any US taxpayer as a "killable" enemy.
Sadaam Hussein called for a holy jihad in the gulf war while he murders and starves his own people. Hussein isnt even a Muslim.
Mr. Bin Laden hates the Saudi land which gave him his wealth, he looks to destroy capitalism yet participates in it and doesnt mind profiting off of it.
I just heard an Islamic expert on the middle east speak of America seen as a bully and vehicle of oppression while enjoying such power and wealth yet I cant help but wonder how much money exists in SadiArabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Syria as they all have prospered to the mainstream of the world by selling oil to the world.

There will be a response and there must be. In accord with the Monroe Doctrine and the defense not only of the US but of the western hemisphere to defend the security of our borders and the western hemisphere. This threat was realized by President Roosevelt via Pearl Harbor in 1942 and by President Kennedy in 1962 via Cuba and now President Bush via New York City 2001.
This is a brutal attack on our homeland, on our innocent, on our way of life.
No president wants this crisis, no reasonable human being would ever want this, but we have it, and we must deal with it.
Some say we deserve it via policy, does anyone deserve this? Should we do nothing?
Can you look one of the victims of this tragedy in the eye and tell them we deserve this? Would you tell them we should do nothing?
I think not.
We need to get the right people, the right countries, and we will.
Remember that Islam is not bad, Muslims are not bad and they didnt do this. Its no different than David Koresh representing Christians,,, he did not, he represented perverse fanaticism and so does Mr. Laden and his network of followers.
It's an ugly world today, but good always destroys evil...
God help us all..
