Days gone by

I remember you and I... the memories of days gone by
I recall you standing there.. dark brown eyes and that bow in your hair
I wonder if you remember the concert at the fair... I remember the day I bought you that teddy bear
And I knew that teddy bear was meant to be for you.. our bond so strong our closeness grew
I remember you and I... together in a mirror pose
So many ways we bonded.. that nobody knows
I can close my eyes and imagine as if it were just yesterday...
I can take you in my arms and it feels right.. and all the world goes away..
I have long since wanted to feel that way again..
We could speak with a look, a glare or a grin...
When we were together we were truly one..
In that moment I am happy
Yet that moment has passed.. that time has since gone
Our lives have changed so much..we both have moved on
Still yet on a given day I'll wonder where you are, are you ok, are you there?
Sometimes I need to know you are with me, and that you still care
And i know that you do, I know that its true... just as you know i'll always care about you
So much time has passed, some things went awry...
Yet our bond continues and i've often wondered why...
We were always meant to be together...no longer for me to deny
