Foreign Policy; peace and war observations
1) Human shields
I thought this was humorously ironic when I saw a CNN
report about the human shields. It seems those brave conscientious souls have had
a sudden change of heart as nearly 3 out of 4 who originally went to Iraq to be a
human shield has since vacated and returned home; in fact, a former soldier of the
Gulf War and now human shield leader has been expelled from Iraq by the Iraqis after
having intense verbal arguments with Iraqi military leaders about "where"
the human shields should be placed. The Iraqi leadership has been moving civilians
and these "human shields" to vital military and strategic resource locations
in critical interest to Mr. Hussein... im so shocked our friend sadam would do that!!!
Not like you "shields" have any dignity to begin with, but please
return home and try getting a job and actually do something productive for once.
2)
Freedom Fries
Freedom fries? Look, the French are the most cowardly culture in
the history of mankind, their greatest leader was a cheat and a coward but freedom
fries? Please, grow up.
3) Resolutions
I wonder if the Bush Administration
is learning any lessons from this total foreign policy debacle. Reasonable was the
attempt to coalition a UN front for the Iraqi objective however I think after a unanimous
vote of 1441 the US should've taken the money and run. You cant get much better than
100 percent approval and once resolution1441 was unaminous it can only go downward
from 100 percent. I understand the attempt and some of the political pressures involved
but this process has been eroding fast since the new year and the French are doing
what they commonly do best (liars and cowards) and the UN is doing what it does best
(Nothing) all the while Iraq is buying time to fortify defensive positions which
I believe further risks the lives of our soldiers.
To their credit Presidents
Clinton and Reagan both snubbed the UN and took immediate actions (Kosovo and Grenada
respectively) and achieved maximum results with minimal casualties.
I think the
Bush administration would be wise to do a turnaround on not only the UN but the Democratic
Party; afterall, leading democrats pushed hard for the president to not "go
it alone" and seek UN advisement and look at what its done for us.
Ironically
its the UN who has already unanimously in writing givin us precedent to proceed in
Iraq, you could say the UN writes the laws and now its the US coalition who will
need to enforce it and thankfully we have an administration with the resolve to get
this problem solved now rather than lagging along.
**
As I stated months ago
this UN thing is pretty much a charade anyway as we've been geared to go to war in
Iraq for some time now.
If you've been watching the news you'll also notice some
attention to situations going on in Iran also of which I told you would occur....
guess who's coming to dinner???
