Our family attending the SCA (Society for Creative Ananchronism.......basically recreating the 16th century....ya know....medieval stuff) coronation. This was our very first SCA event and we had a wonderful time! We went with a great group of people that taught us the SCA way of trust and honor. We watched the current King as he was "assasinated" and the new King crowned. There were over 2,000 people that showed up. We were so impressed with the politeness and the sense of togetherness with our fellow campers. There was equestrian events and fencing and and night they had "walkabouts" which meant you could walk around with an empty mug and expect to get it filled with various drinks from the campers, who are more than happy to share what they have. It's a miracle that some make it back to their own campsites!! But everyone there looks after one another and the children are encouraged to join activites but watched with several eyes. With all the fun and all the partying happening with so many people, not one bad incident happened, which goes to show that honor and trust does prevail.......what a wonderful world it would be if that theory could be spread.......
