Okay so I bet you want to know what on earth this whole WORMFEST thing is right? ... Well I'll tell you a bit of the history and try my best to explain everything! ... WORMFEST is basically a celebration of worms :o) ... take it how you will :o)

THE HISTORY of WORMFEST:

• WORMFEST began around the time of All Hallows Eve 1996 in a chat room called Cape Canaveral
• It took place on the Thursday and the Friday of the said week in this chat room and also at Avondale College, Auckland, NZ
• It was begun by Lollipop GirL and CJENN and celebrated by Rebecca (now Dawnmist), Wormy (now JMZ) and many others including the Believers of the Unpure (don't judge them by their name please, they are way cool chicks!) and countless numbers of students at Avondale over the two days of festivities!
• The inspiration for it was .... I forget ... except there seemed nothing fun to do that Hallowe'en!

YOUR WORMFEST CHECKLIST:

þ - WORMS!

you gotta have worms! ... Real worms, jelly worms, rubber worms, plastic worms, muddy worms, big fat squishy hairy worms! Just lots of em cause you will need em ... for something ... I'm sure ...

þ - A SENSE OF HUMOUR (or HUMOR if you are AMERICAN)

one of these is essential for the weird looks that you get from people when you do silly stuff like this ... but you get respect from the weirdos ... does that help? ... I dunno ... but you gotta bring one otherwise you'll get really embarassed or something!

þ - WORM SLOGANS

for any festival you have to have silly slogans to post everywhere ... "Life is short, eat dirt" ... use your imagination and don't hold back on the mud!

þ - POSTERS

you gotta have posters, worm shaped or otherwise to advertise the festival to others and carry on the tradition! .. they are also handy just to write the slogans on and stick up ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE you can! ... sometimes all the fun is completely confusing the rest of the world as to why you do things!

þ - THE SPIRIT OF WORMINESS!

gotta have the spirit or you'll just never get anywhere! ... So get the SPIRIT and get WORMY and have a great WORMFEST!!
