A little about us...

From Pubmaster's point of view:

So you're probably wondering (yes, I can hear you wondering), "Hey! Wait a minute! He's in Arizona and she's in Alabama. How'd they meet?"
Well, like a lot of couples nowdays, we met on the internet. Yahoo Chat to be more precise. Yes, folks, it really does happen. I was just chatting away in the (at that time not very crowded) 30's room, having a great 'ol time, when this lady (I presumed) named Suthernbelle mentioned something about golf. Well being the golf fanatic I am, I immediately asked her about her game. Then she mentioned something about cigars and golf. Then she said something about her southern accent. At that point I thought to my self, "Self, this sounds like a very nice person."
We started chatting more frequently... She would tell me about her dates, I would tell her about the dates I wasn't going on (too busy golfing and riding).
After we talked on the phone (it was difficult laughing instead of saying "LOL" :-) ) I knew I liked her. Then we traded pictures through snail-mail. I was convinced!

Well, to make a long story short, we kidded around about meeting, then BOOM it happened! She bought tickets, and we had a great weekend in Tucson! Click on the "Pics" link below for more of our Tucson "rendevous".

From Suthernbelle's point of view:

So, now you're probably wondering "How could she possibly go all way to Tucson to meet a strange man?" What Paul left out was the fact that not only did we chat in Yahoo Chat we spent many hours talking on ICQ as well...not to mention the phone bills, cards, letters...etc. At first, we just chatted about mundane things like which guy I was dating at the time, and Paul's latest golf score. We scoffed at the idea of "cyber relationships." (those are only for people who dont have real lives) And all the time, we never realized what good friends we were becoming.
What Paul also failed to mention is the fact that he is known as the "most eligible bachelor in Tucson." Now, while Pubmaster does not ascribe to this notion, (nonsense as he calls it) I happen to realize that in all likelihood, if he is not THE most eligible, he comes in a close second. So, knowing a good thing when I see it, I hitch my wagon to his horse...so to speak.
So, we first chatted in February 1997, first phone call in June 1997, and first visit in October 1997. We have visited back an forth throughout the holidays. During the Christmas time, Paul asked me to marry him, and I said "yes". I'll let you know when we set a date for the wedding.

UPDATE: (February) Well, I made it to Tucson!! I'm living and working near Paul now. Funny how things seem to work out for us. Stay tuned to see what happens in this real life "cyber romance."

NEW NEW!!!! 7/11/98 Well, we did it. We decided not to wait. I suppose we just couldnt think of a reason not to go ahead and get married. So, we bought a house, sent out the invitations, and tied the knot on May 23. SURPRISE!!! We do have wedding pics, but we've been so busy trying to establish our domestic lives neither Paul or I have updated our pages in months. (Paul's still says he's single...ooops)

I hope to re-do the whole page when time allows, until then, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!
