Claims to have a residence on Kodiak Island, Alaska
Jeff/Jeffrey has been travelling through Colorado scamming people along the way. Recently he has travelled east through Chicago and Virginia, and may be residing in nearby states. He claims to be from Kodiak, Alaska and tells a false story about how his parents and fiance died in a tragic car accident. THIS IS NOT TRUE. He also claims to be living off of the money he receives from his parents' deaths. Also NOT TRUE. Jeff travels and befriends people, only to eventually ask for money and disappear shortly after.
His typical excuse is that his bank in Alaska is having computer problems and is not allowing him to access his funds. BEWARE! He will claim that the bug will be fixed over the weekend and he will pay you back. The only thing that happens after the weekend has passed is Jeff DISAPPEARS with your money! He has also claimed to lose his wallet while "hiking" and needs a little money to help him get by until he can get his bank cards/ID replaced. How convenient!
He had a previous warrant in Boulder county for assaulting a police officer. In Colorado Springs, he stole a woman's identity and tried cashing checks and using her credit cards--but only after taking $400 cash.
He has taken advantage of people in Pueblo, Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins and has also been seen periodically back in Colorado Springs. As of October 2008, Jeff has active warrants in 4 cities in Colorado. Again, he is believed to be travelling east and may be in the northeast US and has been known to use internet sites such as couchsurfing.com to find places to stay/potential victims.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT trust Jeffrey Caldwell. He is a sociopath with no conscience. He will do whatever he can to gain your trust, but after a couple of weeks pass he claims to "lose his wallet" or have "bank problems". I have also spoken with a girl from Ankorage, Alaska who lent him money and was never repaid after he skipped town.
He spent a month in jail this year for felony identity theft but was released before the case could be fully formed.
If you have ANY information regarding Jeffrey Caldwell, PLEASE contact me immediately for further information and report him to your local police station.
