July 8th, 2001

There is bad news. The camera is dead. I managed to get a few pictures before it decided to go belly up. I think the battery is hosed... I'll have to see if I can find a replacement somewhere along the way. In the meantime, we'll be using Alie's Advantix camera.

So... until I can figure something out, no more pictures for a while. =(

Today was a nice day. Alie finally awoke and came out and was social. We spent the day watching movies and hanging out with Jon and Diana. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Shaft, Best of Show (which, by the way, is a frigging HILARIOUS movie), some parts of a Battlebots marathon on the Comedy Network... really nice slack day.

Also spent more time catching up on things with Jon and Diana. We checked out a local restraunt called the Raleigh Ale house. The weather was still somewhat overcast and moody... so it was a good stay in and rest day.

It actually was exactly what I needed after the driving and constant go go go of this trip. Just a very mellow morning, afternoon and evening with a kick ass spaghetti dinner to top everything off. It gave me some time to get caught up on my journal and do some really intense thinking too.

Thanks for letting us crash with you guys... it was nice seeing you again. Thanks for giiving us some respite from the constant rush of the road and the fast food and everything else. OH! And thanks Jon for all the kickass live music you burned for me! Keep in touch. =)
