"O, investigator, do not flatter yourself that you
know the things nature performs for herself, but rejoice in know
ing the purpose of those things designed by your own mind"
Leonardo Da Vinci
A very special moment in my
Israeli Defense Forces
service was the oath of induction at the Western Wall, when I was presnted a Bible and a
rifle. The Western Wall (known also as the "Wailing Wall" until
the reuinification of Jerusalem in 1967) is the remnant of the stern retaining wall of the Temple Mount. The holiest place for Judaism. The stones on the lower portion are from the Second
Temple period.

One of the most amazing moments in my life was
the moment I finished the 128 km (80m) Beret March (Masa'a Kumta
) with full gear (30 kg (66 lbs))in 29 hours. That equates out
to 4.41 km (2.8m) per hour for over a day!. When I passed the
finish line and thinking back to what I've been through in the
past day I felt as if I just climbed the highest mountain in the
world, I felt as if I just completed what seemed to be "mission
impossible" just 29 hours ago... 28 km (17.5m) from the finish
line I had torn a ligament and insisted on making it one way or
the other (crawling if I had to...) to the finish line. I refuse
d to get on the stretcher or the ambulance. That march ended the
roughest period of my life ... at the end we recieved the long
anticipated purple berets that we've been yearning for so long ..
. and got T-shirts that read "When we'll die we'll go to Heaven
cause we've already been to hell".
