Directions to The Mt. Carmel Dam Recreation Area: 9 miles North, 2 miles East, 2 miles North and 1 mile East of Langdon, ND, USA. Campground is located about 190 kilometres South-East of Winnipeg, MB, CANADA (2 hrs drive). It is situated on the east edge of West Hope Township on the south fork of Little Pembina River. In 1964, selecting the suitable sight began, and by 1968 the design was in progress.
Construction work began in June of 1970 and was completed by June of 1971. It was built to provide water for recreation, fish, habitat, runoff control and a water supply for the City of Langdon. The 322 acre lake provides many recreation activities that include: fishing, swimming, boating and water-skiing.
