Days 7 and 8- Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Virginia/Tennessee

The last stop on our vacation was the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, where we stayed in a two bedroom cabin. The weather was slightly cold and rainy, but we had fun anyways.

When we first arrived, we just beat the rain. We had time enough to unpack before it started to pour. So we stayed inside and played cards.

Some mountain exploring. As we got farther up the mountains, we realized why they were called the "Smokey Mountains."

On our climb to the highest point in the mountains, I got a little tired. I actually was going to sit the trip out while everyone else walked, but Jason wouldn't let me.

Note the fog, this was all we could see on the way up Clingman's Dome. At the top, as mentioned, you couldn't see anything.

Sunrise in the mountains, as we were leaving back for St. Louis. The last day ended up being our longest drive, 12 hours back to Missouri from the campground. But we came back with a ton of pictures and souvenirs.

The next day we went touring the city near the campground. It was another tourist city, but it was entertaining.

What we climbed. To the "Top of the Smokies." Too bad that when we got up to the top it was too foggy to see anything (you couldn't see over 5 feet in front of your face).

Mountains. I actually think this was taken by Anne from the moving jeep, she's a professional.
