During a stop in Madrid, I found a bookstore and then found a travel guide that included info on Hendaye. It took tracking down Lonely Planet's Southwest France (how crazy does it have to get?). Their only claims to fame are fourfold:
M, 27 June 2005 (Hendaye, France)
A few hours "stuck" in Hendaye has turned out to be a very good thing. The train in wasn't bad...I'm very glad I checked the map in that tour book carefully as it gave me an idea of where to go. The signs to the Tourist Center helped fill in the rest.
I had a good time relaxing on the beach for the morning, even though there was no luggage locker at the train station (due to renovation) so I had to haul all 30 pounds of it with me to the beach...odd.
