Forgive me if this sounds like an elementary school student wrote it. This isn't the page that I find the most interesting (to do or read), but somehow I feel the urge to have it. Maybe I don't understand the true lack of privacy created by the internet. Maybe I really am an elementary school student. Or maybe I just don't feel like analzying this too closely (maybe I have enough else in my life to analyze). Whatever the case, it's here for whatever friend, acquaintance, potential significant other, pedophile, government agent, foreign spy, future employer, random stranger, or over-interested person has the time and inclination to read it. None of this information could you not find with a little internet searching effort or by simply asking me.
As you can probably tell, my name is Shawn. I was born on September 12, 1980 in Houston, TX, but my parents moved to East Tennessee when I was half a year old and have lived there ever since. In 2005 I finished my undergraduate career at Tennessee Technological University with two degrees: Bachelors of Science in Sociology and Chemical Engineering.
In fall of that year I began graduate studies at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA (no, it's nowhere near Boston). Here I am working on my masters and PhD in Sociology; I expect to have the MA by the end of 2007. My areas of research concentration sexuality and the family.
I play piano, and sort of trumpet, and once upon a time played a small bit of guitar (I still remember some basics, I guess), and I sing. I love sci-fi and fantasy, including reading, writing, and watching it. And I think roleplaying games are great.
The summer after my junior year of high school, I went to the Tennessee Governor's School for the Sciences and had a blast. This is where I learned to make a web page like this (okay, not like this, but I got my start there).
