We here at
robsgrille would like to wish our younger and best-looking brother, Kevin, a most joyous 43rd birthday. Well, as joyous as you can have when you don't drink liquor, don't eat juicy red meat, and don't believe in God. Not to mention, he DOES believe in the Chicago Cubs - the most wretched losers in the history of baseball, who blew a chance to go to the World Series in 1984 when their first baseman got Gatorade on his mitt, resulting in a ball bouncing off said mitt, and sending the Sandy Eggo Padres - The Padres!- to the Fall Classic. In fact, they have been there twice, now...the Cubs had their chance last in the fall of '98, being the best 2nd place team in the NL...but got smooshed like a bug by the Atlanta Braves. But now they have reverted to their old ways...I am winning our family's division on Smallworld Baseball (dot com) simply by picking players from teams who are playing against the Cubs.
Here's Bro Kev standing in front of the "Bawlmer" skyline. He works in the building on the left with the exposed trusswork above the building. He's lived in suburban Harford County for about 10 years now. I have three big beefs with the state of Maryland:1. Their state song still refers to President Abraham Lincoln as a tyrant. They loved their slavery, those "Free Staters". And speaking of slavery:2. They put all graduating high school students through involuntary servitude. My nephew Sean has to work free for the state for X amount of hours if he wants his sheepskin. 3. They have failed to give their former governor, Spiro T. Agnew, his due, with an official portrait in the capitol building. And speaking of Maryland Governors, let me add a #4. Their current governor, Parris Glendenning, only won the office through fraud. I hope he gets his due this November.CORRECTION: K.P. informs me that former Governor Agnew has indeed been honored within the past few years. So there was an insult, but it has somewhat been righted.
