Welcome to Andy's Page
Hi all, welcome to my little home on the Internet.  Well, for the time being at least!  On this page you will find some information on the mechanical love of my life, my 1999 model N15 Nissan Almera.

I bought the car new from Benfield Motors Nissan in Newcastle upon Tyne in the summer of 1999.  I picked the carmine red Almera up on the afternoon of June 30th.  I was surprised to see the spec of the model I had picked up, as because it was a special edition, the Ambition, I had had my test drive in one of the usual range models, the GX.  Same engine, the 1392cc 16v GA series powerplant, but different interior, and I had driven the five door model, not the three door.  The only three door demonstrator was the 2.0 GTi, and as much as I was tempted, I didn't wanna ruin what my car was by taking the big brother out!

Well, when I picked it up, after an agonising 6 day wait, I was overjoyed.  Whilst I was admiring a flip paint Primera GT, one of the dealership staff brought it round and parked it outside.  Unfortunatly he parked it in the shade, just through some tinted windows.  My heart fell as I turned round.  It was a horrible dull burgundy!  However, when I pulled out of the dealership, my heart sang once again, as the sun caught it, the red paint looked radiant.  A real deep gloss shine to it.  I must admit Nissan know how to make their paints!

Well, I was well pleased with the car.  For a factory fit system, the audio actually sounded good, not that that stopped me from ripping it out six months later!  It had come with a decent Clarion head unit, with RDS EON, detatchable face plate, and surprisingly, a decent output.  There was also Clarion 17cm 2-way speakers all around.

And for a car costing less than £11,000, it was well featured.  It came with body coloured bumpers, electric windows, electric mirrors, air conditioning, sports seats, and a nice light smoke tint on the windows.

Of course, being 19, the car is now no longer any thing like it was when it left the Japanese factory, let me guide you around my modified car, and help you start modifying your own car.
