Dr. Haikel Hichri is an Assistant Professor of Information Technology at the American University in Dubai (AUD).
Dr. Hichri received the B.Sc. (High Honors) and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He then received his Ph.D. degree in Systems' Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has received many awards and scholarships in recognition of his high academic achievements. Before joining AUD, Dr. Hichri has worked briefly at start-up companies in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada (Hypercore systems now bought by Sierra systems, Vancouver, BC), and Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (Intelligent Mechatronics Systems Inc.)
Dr. Hichri's research interests are in software systems analysis and design, multimedia applications, and E-commerce/E-business. He has co-authored five papers in journals and conference proceedings, one book chapter, and numerous technical and industrial project reports. Dr. Hichri is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and the World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society (WSEAS).
