In Memory ~James Michener~ February 3, 1907-October 16, 1997 James Michener was one of America's best known writers and one of my favorites. His attention to detail frove some of us up the wall, but it made hi books all the more memorable. I could read one of his books and loose track of time easily. That there will be no more saddens me greatly. Among his works were "Tales of the South Pacific", which became the broadway show and later the movie "South Pacific", "The Bridges at Toko-ri", "Hawaii", "Caravans", "Centennial" and many others. James Michener was 90 years old. James Michener Links: James Michener Reading List James Michener Chronology Tales of the Storyteller Official site of James A.
