~Robert Mitchum~ August 6, 1917-July 1, 1997 Robert Mitchum was active in films for well over fifty years, and was one of my favorite movie stars. He was said to be a genunily nice man. Atleast that's what a lot of people said about him. He was a man's man, but was also known as a gentleman to the ladies who knew him according to Jane Russell. They were close friends for many years. He made more than forty-five pictures. A few of the moives I liked were Gungo Ho, Cape Fear, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, The Red Pony, and one of my favorites, Heaven Knows, Mr Allison. He also worked in television in The Winds of War mini-series and its sequel. For HBO he did a moive called Reunion at Fairborough with Debra Kerr. Mitchum was one of the last actors from Hollywood's Golden Era. At the age of seventy-nine in 1996 he made his last film appearance in Dead Man. He was 79.
