~Jimmy Stewart~ May 20, 1908 - July 2, 1997 Jimmy Stewart was one of the most beloved actors in motion picture history. He was the guy next door to many of us, someone who what the ability to make you forget it was a movie and he was an actor, and to feel you knew him like a brother. During WWII he was a member of the Army Air Corps and flew many missions over Germany and France. People who met him off screen said he was just how you'd imagine him to be, down to earth and just a wonderful guy. In his later years he made many appearances on the Johnny Carson show and I loved them all. He'd usually recite one of his poems. I loved these as much as his movies. I felt as though he was a member of the family when I heard he'd passed on. But he will live on the screen for many generations to come.
