~In Memory~
This page is for those who have left us forever. They have made themselves special to us in some way that makes us want to keep their memories alive. As the need arises I'll add to this page, but rather hope I don't have to make many additions.
In order to make this page load faster I've decided to make a page for everyone I add. I will leave the latest Memory on this page. Below you will find links to the other pages.
~Frank Sinatra~
December 12, 1915-May 15, 1998
Francis Albert Sinatra today, May 15, at the age of 82.
Known as "Ol'Blue Eyes,", "Chairman of the Board" and a member of the "Rat Pack" Frank Sinatra, 82, was pronounced dead Thursday at 10:50 p.m. in the emergency room of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from a heart attack.
Born in Hoboken, New Jersey on December 12, 1915, Sinatra was one of the world's best know siingers and movie stars.
Sinatra started singing in local clubs and bars and won a contest on radio. Teenagers, and their mother's, swooned when they heard him sing. That was the start of a career at lasted over 60 years. From 1939 to 1942 he was vocalist with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey bands. He was also a headliner at Las Vegas. "New York, New York" as well as "Night and Day," "Witchcraft," "Love and Marriage," "Strangers in the Night," "September of My Years," "The Lady is a Tramp," are only a few of hi many hits. In his career he made 1,800 music recordings, had 60 film credits, nine Grammys.
But singing wasn't his only talent. "Higher and Higher" was his first movie appearance in 1944. His other movies included "Step Lively", "Anchors Aweigh", "The Manchurian Candidate,", "The Man with the Golden Arm", "Guys and Dolls", "Ocean's Eleven", "Robin and the Seven Hoods", "Von Ryan's Express", "The Detective", "Tony Rome" and many more. He won the male best supporting Oscar for his portrayal of Angelo Maggio in "From Here to Eternity".
To say he was one of a kind is an understatement. There will never been another like him.
