Another Christmas is here and I love everything about it. The lights, the tree and having my family all together. This is the first Christmas since my husband retired from the Marine Corps. For 24 years of his 28 plus career this is the first time I don't have to wonder if he'll be home with us or off in a far corner of the earth. I must admit I'm very happy about this!! Don't get me wrong, I'm as proud as I can be that he served our country and was always ready to pack his stuff and leave on short notice. He gave Corps and Country 1000% everyday and would have gone with no hesitation. Now, he's all mine and that suits me just fine. *S*
So here we will be in beautiful North Carolina for another Christmas. Last I was pretty sure he would retire this summer and it was wonderful to pack my things away in big plastic containers knowing I wouldn't be moving them again unless I wanted to! *L* We bought a beautiful Fraiser Fur and it will be decked out in our cherished decorations from many other Christmas's. All my snowglobes will be spread around the livingroom. Anything I can put greenery on I will. Lights will twinkle on the tree and we will be cozy and snug against the harsh winter weather...hum, well we'll be warm and dry against any rain that comes our way. Would be nice to have a white Christmas but I'll not be holding my breath on that happening!
