Prayer and My Belief

Why I pray

As a born again Christian, it is necessary to pray. Prayer gives us our faith, peace of mind, healing, strength, through God, our spiritual and supernatural abilities, forgiveness of sins, and one very important need, our fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

I was once a very depressed, fearful, angry person. Until I full heartedly received Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior. And as I prayed more and grew in the spirit, that old me began to peel away.

I know that prayer is common for even those who don't consider themselves religious. It gives people a sense of hope and faith, even if they're unsure. If you are one of those people, or are interested in the Christian beliefs, please continue reading. Maybe you will not agree with me on many issues (or, not at all), but what I believe in is the will of God. And God is very, very real. It may not be aparent to many, but the proof that God is real is all around us. We, as human beings, are evidence of a creative and gracious God.

What I believe in as a Christian

If you are interested in this, if you have a Holy Bible (prefferanly King James or better yet, New King James), please read the scriptures listed below the statement for better understanding. And if something is confusing to you, I'd be glad to help out. Feel free to e-mail me anytime!

1.The Holy scriptures in the Holy Bible, for those words were God inspired. (2 Timothy 3:16,17)

2. That God is triune: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

3.That man was created in the image of God, but by voluntary disobedience, fell from perfection. (Romans 5:12)

4. That Christ died for us, as a sacrifice so that we might be forgiven of sins. (John 3:16; Romans 5:8)

5. Salvation through grace: we have no righteousness and must come to God, pleading the righteousness of Christ. (Ephesians 2:8)

6. That upon sincere repentance, and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ we are justified before God. (1 John 1:9)

7. We believe that the change which takes place in the heart and life at conversion is a very real one. This is why we are called "Born Again". ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 Galatians 2:20)

8. It is the will of God that we be sanctified daily, growing constantly in the faith. (Hebrews 6:1)

9. Baptism by immersion is an outward sign of an inward work (Matthew 28:19). The commemoration of the Lord's supper by the symbolic use of bread and juice of the vine ( 1 Corinthians 11:24,25)

10. We believe that Baptism of the Holy Spirit is to endue the believer with power; and that his incoming is after the same manner as in the Bible days (Acts 2:4).

11.It is in the will of God that we walk with the spirit daily (Ephesians 4:30-32),

12. The Holy Spirit has gifts to betow upon the Christians: and that we should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a spirit filled life (1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22).

13.The experiance and daily walk of the believer should never lead him into extremes or fanaticisms (Philipians 4:5).

14. We believe that devine healing is the power of Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith (James 5:14-16).

15. We beleive that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17).

16. It is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with the visible church of Christ. (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:25)

17. Rulers should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will of God. (Romans 13:1-5)

18. All shall stand someday at the judgement seat of God; and there receive eternal life or death. (2 Corinthians 5:10).

19. We believe that heaven is the glorius eternal home of born again believers (John 14:1-3; Revelation 7:15-17).

20. We believe that Hell is the place of eternal torment for all those who rejects Christ as the Savior (Revelation 20:10,15).

21. We believe that soul winning is the most important responsibility to the church (James 5:20).

22. The method ordained of God for the support and spread of his cause is by giving tithes and free-will offerings (Malachi 3:10; 2 Corinthians 9:7).

The truth is, God is real. He is our creator. We were made in his own image. He loves every person in existance. And he is very saddened by those who reject him, the very God who gave them life, who sent his son to die the most hiddeous, painful death that anyone had ever suffered, all so they might be forgiven. And he is very angry as well, just as a parent who's child rebels against him, God is heart broken and angry at those who rebel against him. Some say, "Well, if there was a God, I wouldn't have suffered such as I had". But if that person had been obedient to God, perhaps they wouldn't have suffered what they went through. Or, if they'd planted they're faith in God, perhaps he would have helped them through.

One great thing God has given us is our free will, our right to choose. It can be the life, or the death of us. God has a plan, a pathway for each person. If you choose Him to be the Lord of your life, you will prosper spiritually, maybe more so. If you decide to do it your way, the only way you'll go is downhill. Maybe you'll acheive wealth, popularity or other material things, but your whole reason for existance is wasted. Then, eternity in Hell.

Hollywood and the media often make Christians look like hypocritical, phycho religious freaks. Not to say that there isn't any out there, but the average Christian is a normal human being. When we tell people we're Christians, they expect us to be 100% perfect all the time, or, they call us hypocrites. The fact of the matter is, no one is perfect. Not even God expects us to be perfect, he knows we're human. We all, Christian, Catholic, Jewish, you name it, make mistakes. Christians have even been known to sin, imagine that! But, we have a loving God who will forgive us. As Christ was ridiculed (and crucified) for proclaiming he was the son of God, so will we be ridiculed for proclaiming we are Christians.

What I pray for and what the Saints (Christians) should pray for

We need to pray for: 1. Guidance and council in all that we do.

2. Salvation for unsaved loved ones.

3. Protection against harm, phisically and spiritually.

4. Revival in our churches

5. Spiritual uplifting and blessing for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

6. Our children, that they'd grow in God's grace.

7. Our country and political leaders, that they'd do God's will and accept Christ as their Savior.

8. Peace of mind

9. That we'd be Christlike, to have love and compassion for our fellow man no matter what he may do, to have Christ's utmost faith, and Holy wisdom, to speak with authority as he did on earth.

10. That God would bless us with spiritual gifts to use as prophesy and ministering tools to unbelievers. 1
