Finally
back home in Florida for the holidays. No visit home is complete without
a visit to the beach.
Even
the water in the wintertime still has shades of green although they
aren't nearly as beautiful as the rich colors during the summer.
Just
a different perspective on the water vs the beach.
Looking
down the beach toward Fort Walton.
Looking
the other direction toward Destin I spy a lone seagull and a few other
small birds. I'm not sure of their true species, but we've always called
them sandpipers.
Another view
of the gull and sandpipers as I start walking toward them. The gull
moves off and stops before continuing on as I get closer.
The
gull isn't content to sit still so that I can get a better picture and
moves closer to the sandpipers, who are looking for a snack.
A little further
up (about 15 ft or so) the rest of the flock of sandpipers is busily
looking for something to eat. So ends this trip to the beach during
this visit. Was a wonderful few hours while it lasted.
