Poetry

I love to write poetry, so I thought I would set aside a section of my web site to post my poetry. Whenever I write a new poem, I'll post it on here, so keep checking back! And if you're wondering what's up with the angels and cherubs, well I love them and they kind of go along with poetry, so I searched for my fave angel and cherub pictures.

I didn't write this, but I found it while I was searching for angel/cherub pictures and I really liked it...
"There are moments in our days which are undeniably touched by angels."

Darkness

As I stare into the darkness, looking at the stars,
I hear sounds all around me, people, insects, and cars
But I don't seem to hear them, the voices, chirping, or cars,
As I stare into the darkness, looking at the stars.

FYI-This was the first poem I ever wrote :)

I'm Here

When you're all alone
And a friend you need,
Like a river flows,
You'll hurt, I'll bleed
You can trust in me,
We can find a way
Take away the pain,
Time heals everything
Even a lonely state of mind
Because happiness is so hard to find.

Two Hearts

Two hearts, yearning for a love,
Two hearts, brought together by something from above
Two hearts, both in need of care,
Two hearts, roaming the earth as feathers in the air
Two hearts, only aware of pain,
Two hearts, torn apart in vain
Two hearts, were they destined to live alone?
Two hearts, left in lonliness to roam
Two hearts, brought together once again,
Two hearts, exploring where each other has been
Two hearts begin to make a pair
Two hearts, in each other they find care
Two hearts soon become one
Two hearts, this is what love has done
Two hearts, drinking from the same vine,
Two hearts, yours and mine.

All Alone

I have lived my life for many years,
All alone in a river of tears
If only there had been someone there
To show me I'm loved, to show me they care
Every night I prayed to the Lord up above
To send me someone with whom I could share my love
I was beginning to feel hopeless and think that couldn't be,
Until you came into my life and said you love me
Now I live my life for you,
You know there is nothing I wouldn't do
You are the one that completes me and makes me feel whole,
I love you with all of my heart and all of my soul
But soon you will be going away,
And I know I will cry another river on that day
I know we'll still talk but it just won't be the same,
My heart will be yearning for you each time i hear your name
My heart will be aching for you and so will every bone,
On this day that you leave,
I am once again, all alone.

I Miss You

Lying here, my thoughts drift to you,
But that's no surprise, they usually do
As I think of you leaving soon, I try not to cry,
But I have failed once again as a tear rolls down from my eye
It pains me so much to know you'll be so far away,
Even though I know we'll be together forever one day
A drop of happiness tingles through my heart
As I think about my future, knowing you'll take part
I wish I could see you right now, hold you in my arms,
You make me so happy, your love and your charm
Another tear escapes as I lie here missing you,
I love you with all of my heart,
And I hope you know it's true.

Mother's Little Angel

I didn't write this one, but I really liked it.

There came a frantic knock at the doctor's office door,
A knock, more urgent than he had ever heard before,
"Come in, Come in," the impatient doctor said,
"Come in, Come in, before you wake the dead."
In walked a frightened little girl, a child no more than nine,
It was plain for all to see, she had troubles on her mind,
"Oh doctor, I beg you, please come with me,
My mother is surely dying, she's as sick as she can be."
"I don't make house calls, bring your mother here,"
"But she's too sick, so you must come or she will die I fear,"
The doctor, touched by her devotion, decided he would go,
She said he would be blessed, more than he could know.
She led him to her house where her mother lay in bed,
Her mother was so very sick she couldn't raise her head,
But her eyes cried out for help and help her the doctor did,
She would have died that very night had it not been for her kid.
The doctor got her fever down and she lived through the night,
And morning brought the doctor signs that she would be all right,
The doctor said he had to leave but would return again by two,
And later he came back to check, just like he said he'd do.
The mother praised the doctor for all the things he'd done,
He told her she would have died, were it not for her little one,
"How proud you must be of your wonderful little girl,
It was her pleading that made me come, she is really quite a pearl!"
"But doctor, my daughter died over three years ago,
Is the picture on the wall of the little girl you know?"
The doctors legs went limp for the picture on the wall,
Was the same little girl for whom he'd made this call.
The doctor stood motionless, for quite a little while,
And then his solemn face, was broken by his smile,
He was thinking of that frantic knock heard at his office door,
And of the beautiful little angel that had walked across his floor.
