Actually, I just wanted to use this picture and I didn't have any place to put it,
so I had to write a new page. But that's ok - I don't mind rambling. If you, for
some strange, inexplicable reason, don't like it, you're absolutely free to skip it.
I don't mind, really.  Just pouring some of the extra stuff out of my head to make
room for more.  Or maybe, upon further reflection, the ranting in
and of itself is the source of more lunacy.  I mean, like they used to think, in the
theory of catharsis, that releasing frustrations through violent or loud outbursts
caused a sort of easing of the symptoms which brought the frustration about...
later proven not so - the release of frustration usually simply leads to more of the same.
But then, who am I to postulate.  I'm just a firefighter.  A public servant with the
simple (possibly misguided) desire to serve others, to help out in their time of need.  Of course, that
hardly precludes independant thought.  I can think all I want, I'm just not supposed
to foist my thoughts off on others.  And, as I said, you're free to stop reading
at any time.  I'm doing this for myself and not you anyway.
Not that everything I do in the meantime is for others.  Yes, the work I do does
benefit my community.  But that's ancillary to the fact that I love what I do, thus
deriving a direct benefit from doing it.  Not to mention I get paid for it.  Not well,
mind you, but usually enough to pay most of the bills.  And I get a lot of time off to play golf.
Oh, and one other thing. Buckle your kids up when you drive. Not just for them,
but for me too. I've seen enough dead children.
