There's everybodys favorite trilogy, Star Wars.
Enough has been said about it that I have nothing new to add about the three episodes that have been released. However, if you haven't seen Episode I: The Phantom Menace, I definitely reccommend you take the time to do so. While the special effects appear to make extensive use of computer modeling and mixing which makes them look fake, the promise of completing the story and answering questions of what happened before Episode IV: Star Wars.
Jurassic Park and Lost World have
amazing special effects. Like I said before, the books are just so much better and much more complete than the movies ever could be without being over four hours long (which I wouldn't mind). I still root for the dinosaurs in the movies.
My favorite scene is in Lost World when that group is running across the open field and we pan back to show the paths of the Velociraptors (note: true Velociraptors were only 4 feet tall, but a 6' predator is more impressive
so hollywood made a minor adjustment. Luckly for them, about 3 months
before releasing Jurassic Park, fossils were discovered of a 6'
raptor - this speces was named Utahraptor) converging on the path the humans
are making.
The Blues Brothers starring Dan Akroyd and
John Belushi. A classic movie spin-off from Saturday Night Live.
When was the last time something from SNL had the lasting impact
or lifespan of this movie?
From the parody genious of "Weird Al" Yankovic comes
UHF. Included are parodies of Indiana Jones, the Beverly
Hillbillies, a game show that includes elements of Let's Make a
Deal and Wheel of Fortune, as well as several scene parodies
from other popular movies.
