Roma

Gleaming street lights flicker softly
The night sky hangs carelessly
A violin hums to me harmoniously
Cobblestone streets guide me
To my unknown destination
In and out of alleys and walkways
Stopping, I study each passerby
So lighthearted, so full of passion and life
Each breathes the spirit of Italy
Closing my eyes, I dwell on the
Sights, sounds, and smells
I begin to dance in circles like a child
Because I have felt the essence of Roma
Flow throw my veins
I continue
I walk through the city where
I am free to roam
