Victorian Schoolboys' & Schoolgirls' Trials - April / May 2004 Players attend sessions of the Victorian Schoolboys' & Schoolgirls' Selection Trials through March to May for the Australian Schools' Soccer Championships scheduled for August. Note: players can only trial after completion of the VSSSA trials nomination form, signed by a parent and the relevant school Principal. Nomination Forms due: bring completed form to trial! A player is required to attend at least one Trial session to be eligible for selection. You must be under 20 and still attending Secondary school. Almost all players are Years 11 or 12, and therefore 16, 17 or 18 years old. The Championships have been conducted over the last 20 years, and are of high quality, with the involvement of players like Ned Zelic, Eddie Krncevic, Craig Moore, Paul Trimboli, Steve Horvat etc, and more recently, Simon Colosimo, Marco Bresciano and Patrick Kisnorbo. A Victorian squad of 16 will be selected over 3 or 4 sessions and 3 practice matches. The commitment required is 1 session per week. We understand that most players already have Club commitments, as well as School studies. We are flexible, but must be kept informed. Let us know immediately if there are problems. Costs are subsidised, and the balance met by fund-raising. Details will be available closer to final selection.
