Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Don and I am a member of the
Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department in Texas.
The Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department is the largest single-municipal VFD in America. It includes more than 190 active members and 45 semi-active members. The department responds to about 170 alarms per month within Pasadena's city limits, including rescue calls and calls for assistance in any type of disaster, such as flooding, hurricanes, evacuations, etc.
The fire department's main purpose is the suppression and fighting of fires within the city, training of members in the most up-to-date techniques of firefighting and education of the citizens in means and methods of the prevention of fires. The fire department currently has eight fire stations located throughout the city and about 38 fire trucks.
While providing fire protection to the city, the department is an active member of the Channel Industries Mutual Aid (CIMA). The Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department also provides mutual aid fire protection in conjunction with Ellington Air Force Base, Johnson Space Center, the University of Houston-Clear Lake for about 1,500 homes in the city of Taylor Lake Village.
