The NRA-Beeman Grand Prix Challenge has disabled shooters from around the United States participating in the Air Rifle series. This marksmanship competition was set in motion by Dave Baskin of NRA Disabled Shooting Sports. In this series, shooters compete in a number of events around the country and Canada, and accrue points much the same way the NASCAR drivers do, by finish and place in each event. At the end of the season, at finals held in Blaine, Minnesota, the top 10 shooters out of over 100 share in a purse of over $40,000.00 in cash and prizes. Competition is always tight, as is evident by this past years match scores. Since 1998, the NRA-Beeman Challenge has been competing in Hampton Roads. Opportunities are avialable for individuals to compete, volunteer, or sponsor this sport's local athletes and the sanctioned local event.
