Looking Glass

Looking into a mirror
I see a reflection

It is somehow familiar
Yet a distorted perception

It stares back at me
A haunted expression

Piercing my soul
Exposing suppressions

It reaches out to me
Seeking confessions

Bottled up emotions
Demanding liberation

I close my eyes
Ignoring their supplications

But the reflection is staring back
In silent observation

My soul is in turmoil
From forgotten desolation

Denial is no longer
My blessed protection

Shadows flee my mind
Replaced with blinding illumination

I can no longer bury
The painful recollections

What was once shame
Is now bitter salvation

What once condemned me
Is now my redemption
