Why are we forced to attend school? Does having a good education really matter? These questions sometimes arise in the minds of some young teenagers. They feel that school is just another term for prison. What they should ask themselves is whether of not they want to work at McDonald's or Burger King for the rest of their lives. Do you remember the commercial with the phrase "No one ever says they want to be a junkie when they grow up." Well, how many people say that they would like to flip burgers when they grow up. Today, the world continues to advance in technology. Jobs require more and more training. It is almost to the point where you have to have a college degree (at least four years) to hold a job that will support yourself. When I say support yourself, I mean having your own place, your own car, and a few luxuries. I don't mean living in your own room in your mother's house driving that leased car you always wanted. Employers today look more and more at your educational background. So the next time you hear someone say that a good education is not necessary, ask them have they been practicing saying "Do you want fries with that?"
