San Antonio

This River walk is right in the middle of downtown San Antonio. It is mainly a tourist area with plenty of restaurants, which includes the well known Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock Cafe. Here we are doing one of the tours on the river boats.
A view from the boat onto the sidewalk. The river walk is often crowded with people and most of the restaurants are on the edge of the water.
Another picture taken from the boat. The restaurant straight ahead is Casa Rio. It is a Mexican restaurant and it was the best Mexican food we've ever had.
Me at Casa Rio enjoying a Lone Star Lager. We had a table right on the edge of the water.
Us in front of the Alamo. Texas belonged to six countries in the past (Spain, France, The Republic of Texas, Mexico and now The United States of America). Many of these battles for possession of Texas were fought at the Alamo. This is the history as I recall it, but if I have it all wrong it might be all those the Lone Star Lagers that effected my memory.
Me at a plague at the Alamo with the six countries' flags to which Texas used to belong.
Us near the entrance at Sea World.
Sea World, San Antonio hosts Shamu, the well known killer whale.  Here three of the killer whales perform in Shamu's Splash Sensations show.
Me with one of the killer whales in the background.  Photo's like this one are not allowed after the show but we managed to sneak this one in when this killer whale wandered off in our direction.
This was one of the shows that we watched. It was sort of a comedy and they used an otter, a seal and a sea lion. It really was a good show and very funny !
