About Ourselves
We are an all volunteer organization established some years ago to aid the animals of Gozo. We operate an Animal Clinic in Victoria which offers, at a nominal charge, treatment and Veterinary service for any animal brought to us. We also run an SPCA van which is used to collect stray or injured animals from all parts of the Island. This service is free of charge. Our funding is provided completely by individual donations, membership dues from our world wide supporters and funds raised by a weekly Bazaar, the Annual Flag Week and various Social Affairs held during the course of the year.
Bazaar
We offer a great selection of used books, clothing
and bric-a-brac with new items arriving daily. All these items
have been donated and are at bargain prices. You are
invited to call in and enjoy a trading session with our cheerful
staff.
Aims:
We are endeavoring to establish an Animal Shelter at a site made
available to us in
the country. This will enable us to rehabilitate animals and
provide a holding area until
new homes are found. We are also trying to establish an Animal
Education program
for the schools to enable children to learn more about their pets
and the caring of
them both now and in their future working environment.

We are located By the Playing Field, Main Gate Street,
Victoria, Gozo.

A Secretary's News is published bi-monthly for Malta and Gozo
members with
copies sent to overseas members twice a year and our Net page is
updated regularly
with 'What's News at S.P.C.A Gozo'.
We are pleased to be able to offer a reduced charge for neutering
your pets. For
only Lm 5.00 for a female cat and Lm 14.00 for a female dog a
simple operation will
prevent unwanted litters. This is only part of the cost and
S.P.C.A. (Gozo) will pay
the rest. There is also a large reduction for male cats and dogs.
We also offer FREE
neutering of feral cats so if you are caring for some ferals and
would like to keep
your 'cat family' around the same size, please contact us for
further details.
Could we remind you that in the hot weather, availability of
water is a
problem for animals and birds. A bowl of fresh water each day
outside
your home will be appreciated by both.
If you are thinking of coming to live on the beautiful island of
Gozo and
would like to bring your pet, we will be happy to try to answer
your queries.
Our Clinic Manageress has recently been rather tied up.
Received at the Clinic was a large hound who was full of fun. It
was decided to tie
him outside for a few minutes sun bathing whilst work continued
indoors. On
returning the hound was so pleased to see our Manageress his
prancing promptly
tied a double knot of rope around her legs and effectively
immobilized her. Her cries
for help were finally heard by some local school children who
provided assistance
but not before she had been thoroughly licked by this loving
animal. A very knotty
situation !!!
