Well, I bet you've stumbled here and asked yourself, what the hell is the game, Gran Turismo, about? Well, Gran Turismo is the greatest game on the Playstation, it's a racing game comprising of around 300 licensed cars
and aims to be the most realistic car game around.
There are two main game modes, Arcade and Gran Turismo.
The Arcade mode comprises initially of 6 manufacturers each holding 4 cars. The cars are seperated into 3 categories, A, B, and C, with A being the highest category, and C being the lowest. There are initially 4 tracks and to unlock the next 4, each track has to be completed with the three classes of cars, in Easy. Once these has been unlocked, then the rest of the manufacturers (4 more) can be unlocked by completing each race in the three classes of cars in Normal. This mode is a sort of beginner mode, which lets players get used to the game and cars.
The real racing is done in the next mode, Gran Turismo. In this mode, the player aims to complete all races (and there are PLENTY!!). Before the player can race, however, they need to pass a test. There are three main licenses to tackle, B (easy), A(tricky) and A international (almost bloody impossible). The simple races only require a B license while the harder ones need A or A international. The player starts off with a set amount of credits. This allows them to buy a small car to win the basic races with. With the winnings achieved, the player can buy a bigger, more powerful car to race in the more powerful races, ad infinitum.
The best thing about this mode is the range of cars. There are around 300 licensed cars in here, and they are all buyable!! From simple cars like the Nissan Primera up to the Nissan Skyline and Dodge Viper, this is one mode that will please gamers and car enthusiastics alike!!
