Street Fighter Alpha 3 - (1998) Here we go again, another Alpha game, this one is incredibly BRILLIANT!!
This is for Guile and it's a secret move completely protects him against computer Zangief and Vega. Really it highlights a bug. To perform, first jump at the opponent using a medium power kick. When this hits, push left and heavy kick (so that he kicks upside down). As soon as it hits and it doesn't matter if it was blocked, push right and heavy punch. Guile should now freeze at the animation frame that shows him stepping on one foot. Zangief will keep doing his clothesline away from Guile and Vega will keep sliding, with no success. To get out of this move, just Flash Kick. This cheat only works when you are facing right and ONLY works on this version.
This cheat allows you to select the same character as your human opponent. It also allows you to fight the computer while the computer is in the Championship colours. Press down, R, up, L, Y and B when the Capcom logo appears and only on Joypad 1. A chime will sound and the screen will turn blue (like the Championship Edition SFII screen) to indicate that it has worked.
Disable all special moves - Do the normal Capcom cheat (down, R, up, L, Y and B) when the Capcom logo appears and on Joypad 1. A chime will sound, indicating that it is in effect. Now in the GAME START mode, all special moves are banned from the match, making it ultra challenging.
Speed TURBO mode up to 10 stars - Do the normal Capcom cheat when the SFII logo comes onto the screen on Joypad 2. A chime will sound, indicating that it is in effect. Now you can play it at an insanely fast speed, even faster than the SFII Pirate Editions!!
Disable specific specials - This is for the VERSUS mode. On the handicap screen, do the usual cheat on Joypad 2. A chime will sound and the screen will scroll left to reveal an incredible hidden options screen. Each player can now turn off specific special moves such as Bison's Psycho Crusher. It's like the MegaDrive mode but you need a cheat to access it.
Disable all normal moves - Do the MegaDrive Capcom cheat (that's down, Z, up, X, A, Y, B, C) on Joypad 1 and on the Capcom logo screen. A chime will sound, indicating that the cheat is in effect. Now in the GAME START mode, all normal moves are banned from the match!
Speed CHAMPIONSHIP mode to 5 stars - When the SFII building starts to fade, enter the MegaDrive Capcom cheat. A chime will then sound. now you can speed up the CHAMPIONSHIP mode to 5 stars.
Choose same character twice in battle mode - When the first battle mode screen appears, enter in the MegaDrive Capcom cheat. You'll hear a chime if you did it right. Now you can choose the same World Warrior twice!
In battle mode you can normally choose the same World Warrior twice. To choose him/her 8 (eight) times , on the BATTLE MODE screen press L, R, L, R, L, R, R and L for the Super NES and something (I don't know what but I know it's in there) for the MegaDrive. You'll hear Vega laugh in acknowledgement. Now you can choose the same World Warrior 8 times!
Recover normal attributes and colours - On this version you would have noticed that a lot of the character's moves have changed either in animation or in execution. This can prove very irritating for the veterans as you will have to relearn your "feel" with the characters. For example, for Dhalsim's slide, you have to hold the Joystick down or down-towards. Down-towards? So you cannot perform a slide while in the blocking position? And how about Ryu's and ken's lack of invulnerability when performing a Dragon Punch? No more Dragoning through a fireball and finishing off an opponent who has you practically beat. Damn! But help is at hand because you can select the normal colours with this cheat (the normal colours have been replaced with the Super Turbo colours) and therefore regain your characters' attributes and skills as they were in the original Super SFII. You lose the Turbo bar but so what? Anyway, to select the "normal" characters, highlight a character and press the weak punch button. Then wiggle the joystick left and right (for some characters it has to be up and down) and press the weak punch button again. Eventually your character will cry out and the colours will change to the normal colours. For example, to choose the "normal" Ryu, press the weak punch button, wiggle the joystick left and right, then press it again. Or for Guile and Dhalsim, same but wiggle the joystick up and down. Experiment with each character to find the correct joystick combination. Even your friend can do the same using the kick buttons for a Super character Vs Super Character fight!!
Find Akuma - Finally Capcom decided to include a "Sheng Long" type character to the game in the form of a cheat as a little in-game joke for all those people who thought he was in the other games (which he wasn't). To fight him, lose no more than 3 rounds. Which is easier said than done as this version is especially difficult. Especially with DeeJay-tap-throw-cheat-counter- everything-you-do-even-dragon-punches around. And Zangief-lets-you-take-most-of-his- power-off-then-proceeds-to-beat-you-with-three-moves-and-not-allowing-you-to-perform- anything-at-all-during-this-the-lowdown-cheat as well. Aneeeeeeway, when you get to M.Bison, you will notice the face box is black. Akuma will then gatecrash the tournament and beat up Bison while the screen fades white. When the whiteness clears, the music will change to Akuma's music and Bison will be laid out on the floor, completely unconscious! Now Akuma will face you to fight.
Select Akuma - Well, Akuma doesn't just have to gatecrash on the tournament, he can go through everyone else as well. When you are on the Player Select screen, after choosing the speed, highlight Ryu, T Hawk, Guile, Cammy and Ryu again for at least 4 seconds each. You will know when you have got it right when the Street Fighter II music starts to wrap up. Now press start a fraction of a second before pressing the three punch buttons repeatedly. Ryu's costume will turn brown and then he will change into Akuma who is represented by a black sillouette. That's it, the best character selected. His moves are activated the same way as Ryu's and Ken's but he has two new moves. The first is an air fireball. Jump then perform the fireball move. To do his Shadow Dance, perform it the same way as Dhalsim's teleport. It even acts like a teleport as well. Just great for a hit and run move. Even the second player can select Akuma for a great Akuma Vs Akuma battle.
To select Akuma on the VERSUS MODE, highlight Ryu if you're on Joypad 1 or Ken if you are on Joypad 2. Now press all six buttons. That's it.
