Larisa Just Wants To Have Fun!

Acting is pretty serious work, but off the set of The Secret World of Alex Mack, Larisa Oleynik sure knows how to have a good time!
Being a teenager does not have to be all about badd moods, zits, parental fights and peer pressure woes-just look a Larisa Oleynik, star of The Secret World of Alex Mack! Her show has made her one of America's favorite 15-year-olds and her positive outlook on just about everything allows her to toally enjoy it. "Most of the time I'm totally happy where I am because this is such an amazing experience," explains Larisa.
High school sophomore Larisa, who does most of her studies on the set of Alex Mack, has a pretty different schedule than most kids her age. Larisa's classes, which she definitely takes seriously, fit in between flming scenes of the show. However, when she's done takin her lit test or acing an oral quiz in History, she gets to chill out on the set with some freee time that's all her own. "I get a chance to be a kid on the set. We all sort of run around and goof off and are total spazzes most af the time," says Larisa with a giggle.
As one of the most recognizable faces on television, it's hard sometimes for Larsia to be a "normal" teenager. Going to the store to pick up a candy bar can be a pretty weird experience for a star, yet super sweet Larisa never minds meeting a friendly fan on the way. "I like it when people come up and talkto me and aren't really intimidated," she says.So, if you ever spot Larisa, don't forget to say hi!
Like all teenage gilrs, Larisa thinks a lot about guys! "I'm boy-obsessed," admits Larisa. "I have a lot of little obsessions. I think Leonardo DiCaprio is the most beautiful boy in the world!" Eventually, Larisa would love to find someone special of her very own, but she doesn't complain about not having a steady b-friend in her life right now. She's having too much fun!
Larisa is also a huge music fan. No Doubt is her absolute fave and the group's energetic singer Gwen Stefani is Larisa's idol. Larisa even went to a recent No Doubt show and paid homage to Gwen in her own special way. "I love to have fun wth makeup. I was sportin' full-on red lips and red nails like Gwen," Larisa confides. It was a blast because Larisa is almost never a glam girl- she only goes all out for special occasions!
Though a lot of people expect Larisa to dress just like 'Alex Mack,' their personal styles aren't exactly alike. "Sometimes I'll walk into a store and I'm like, 'Oh, that's totally Alex, but it's not Larisa!'" she says. But Larisa has definitely begun to appreciate her alter ego's fashion sense a lot more lately. "When I first started out I was like, 'What am I wearing?' But now I really like them." Larisa enjoys sporting all kinds of fun colors, especially her favorite, purple!
Being 15 and living in California means one really cool thing for Larisa-she only has one more birthday to go befre she can get her dirver's license. However, this Northern Cal native isn't in a big rush to get behind the wheel yet. "I'm looking forward to the freedom of it," says Larsa, "but there are some things that are really nice about (not driving), like I get to sleep in the car on the way to the set in the morning."
In many ways, Larisa is just an average teenager who happens to be a TV star. She loves hanging with her friends, chcecking out cool bands and having huge crushes on guys. And, like her fans who watch The Secret World of Alex Mack, she often finds a valuable reminder between each episode's laughs and teenage drama. "One of the really big messages of the show is just sort of that it's okay to be a total individual," says Larisa. "That's something that I have to remind myself of."
