The Secret World of Larisa Oleynik

Larisa O: Hi! I'm Larisa Oleynik. Today I'm here at FAO Schwarz, the world famous toy store in New York City. I'm really psyched for today's live event. After all, where else but on Nickelodeon Online would I get a chance to chat with kids from all over the country? Plus, Nick Online will reveal the answers to The Alex Mack Facts contest. At the end of the live event, we'll see the screen names of all the winners of the contest! Well, I'm all set here in the Nickelodeon Boutique. Zap me your first question!

Question: If you rode in an elevator with Chelsea Clinton, what would you say to her?

Larisa O: I would want to know, first of all what it was like to live in the White House. I would want to know what it's like to have security guards around all the time and no privacy.

Question: What is the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you at an audition?

Larisa O: Most of the time for auditions they give you stuff ahead of time, but the scariest thing that happened was that they asked me to dance. I just don't like surprises!

Question: How do you zap people?

Larisa O: We use computer technology that creates the look of electricity on TV.

Question: Is it difficult to pretend you have powers while you are acting?

Larisa O: Ummmmm! Actually it's kind-of getting easier, Alex is becoming more comfortable with her powers. It's fun to pretend.

Question: Are you friends with Ray in real life?

Larisa O: Yes, Darris and I spend a lot of time together. 24-7 so sometimes we get in little fights, but we would stick up for each other no mater WHAT.

Question: Larissa, if you really could have super powers, what would be the one power you'd choose to have?

Larisa O: I'm thinking. I've always wanted to be able to stop time, did you see the show where Alex stopped time. It would be really cool to stop time at school.

Question: Do you get to pick out your clothes?

Larisa O: Alex has a really unique wardrobe. The wardrobe person, Laura picks them out and then I get to wear them.

Question: How did you get started?

Larisa O: I started at 8 years old with "Les Miserable." I sang in the part.

Question: How do you balance your work with the show and school?

Larisa O: When I'm working, I do 3 hours of school a day in 20 minute segments.

Question: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one thing, what would it be?

Larisa O: Food and water!

Question: What do your friends think about your job?

Larisa O: My friends don't treat me any differently. My after-school job is just acting. I miss some of the sports I used to do.

Question: If you could play any role in a current movie, what would it be?

Larisa O: I love Claire Danes, I would love to play the role of Reese Witherspoon in the movie "Man in the Moon".

Question: Larisa, do you remember me? I'm Kristin Wiehe, your old best friend from Preschool (Children's House or Children's corner, I forget which one).

Larisa O: Yes, I totally remember you. I was just thinking about you the other day. How are you, Kristin?

Question: When you grow up what do you want to do?

Larisa O: When I grow up, I want to keep acting.

Question: Do you have a real sisterly relationship with Meredith?

Larisa O: Yes, I love Meredith. I am an only child and she only has brothers, so we love to hang together.

Question: What's the best part of being a celebrity?

Larisa O: To be able to influence people in good ways, like The Big Help because little kids look up to celebrities. If they send out important messages kids are more likely to get into it.

Question: What is more challenging movies or TV series?

Larisa O: Movies are a little crazier because there's a lot more stuff going on with night shoots. Movies you don't get to know your character as well.

Question: Larisa, are you on yet?

Larisa O: I am here!

Question: Is Boy Meets World a permanent TV show for you?

Larisa O: No, we only did 2 episodes.

Question: Were you in any other Nickelodeon shows?

Larisa O: I had 3 lines in Pete & Pete. I was on All That. I LOVED that! And I was in The Big Help- a-Thon.

Question: What's an average day for you like?

Larisa O: We shot 26 eps last year during 6 months so I usually had a 7am call. I had to go to breakfast, then wardrobe, then makeup and then I had school in-between.

Question: Where do you get all of your "Kewl" Clothes?

Larisa O: Alex has her own style. Laura, our wardrobe lady goes to a lot of thrift stores. She knows how to combine things and sometimes she asks me.

Question: If you could be in any other Nick show, what would it be?

Larisa O: Guts and Double Dare.

Question: What surprises are coming up on the show?

Larisa O: Alex Mack is going into prime-time next year. There will be a 2-part episode. You get to see a completely different side of Alex Mack.

Larisa O: Alex Mack Fact #6: BRYCE is Annie Mack's boyfriend.

Question: Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Larisa O: No, I am an only child, so I am so lucky to have my TV sister, Meredith.

Question: Do you have a secret talent?

Larisa O: I can put my foot behind my ear.

Question: How much alike is your family and Alex's?

Larisa O: I am an only child, my parents aren't as clueless as Alex's, but Alex always feels like her parents are neglecting her and my parents are very supportive.

Question: What kind of cat do you have?

Larisa O: I have a cat named Tigger, he's a brown tabby.

Question: What do you like most about Alex? Her powers? Her style?

Larisa O: I think Alex is cool because she has her own style, she doesn't realize it but she's unique. I find out more things each day that I am like her.

Larisa O: Alex Mack Fact #8: DAVE was the one driving the truck that sprayed the chemical all over the place and Alex.

Question: Hey Larisa? How Are you? Your a really great actress. Tell me what is it like to see yourself on TV?

Larisa O: It's the coolest feeling in the world. When we're filming, I never really think about it until I see it on TV.
