Adelaide has always been my home. My parents and I have lived in our two-storey house for about 3 years now, right by the beach, overlooking the water. The views from my house are fantastic, especially at night, with the lights of other suburbs along the coast of Adelaide shining on the water's horizon. Adelaide has several sister cities. Austin, Texas is Adelaide's sister city, as is Christchurch in New Zealand.
Adelaide is probably best known for being the 'City of Churches' Adelaide does have many churches, my favourite is St. Francis Xavier's cathedral, since I have been there quite a few times when I went to school. I went to Mercedes College, which was a private co-ed school. I started school there in reception and went right through to year 12. Then I repeated year 12 at Hamilton Secondary College, which was a public school. It was through going there, that I met my BESTESTEST friend, Alessia.
Adelaide is known very well for it's wineries. I live only a short drive from McLaren Vale, one of the winery areas in South Australia. The Barossa Valley is another popular area for wineries.
Adelaide's nightlife is mainly concentrated down Rundle Street and Hindley Street. Hindley Street is your spot lined with pubs and clubs, and it's actually the pretty sleazy end of Adelaide... hehehe... Rundle Street is up the East end of Adelaide, and is almost the opposite to Hindley Street. Rundle Street is lined with cafes and restaurants, and a few pubs and clubs.
