My Simple Page of Poetry

So.  Now you know part of the truth, I am somewhat of a Poet.  And, by the end of it you will realize that I am a bad poet as well.  Enough chit-chat.  Read on.

(This is my first sonnet, I wrote it for a Poetry class; before I dropped out of College)

.
Would that I had been so misfortunate,
as to, in life, never crossed paths with you.
I would not, in death, be a man despondent,
for never would I have known loss, love true.
.
Indeed!  I would never have known happiness,
surely not akin to the joy I know now!
But now, my death, doth cause me much distress,
fearing not lost life, but, instead, Love's vow.
.
How your sweet love doth enrapture my soul,
your kisses are the softest caresses.
When our bodies lie together, I'm whole,
our spirits, together, now coalesce.
.
Yes, our paths have crossed, our love sworn true.
Forever shall I be in Love with you.
