Professional Objective:To obtain knowledge in various fields in order to be well-rounded so as to give me flexibility in jobs in the future.

Education:I graduated with honors from Troy High School in June, 1997. I also spent a year attending Oakland Technical Center in order to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. I attended Michigan Technological University until Winter 1999 where I majored in Biology and Education, but did not complete my course of study.

Volunteer Work:
1995-1996
I worked at Troy Beaumont hospital doing volunteer nurse assisting and later advance testing. It was my duty to make people feel comfortable in frightening situations (i.e. before surgery, new living situation, extended hospital stay, etc.) I had to provide direct care to patients which included feeding, bathing, mouth care, changing bed linens, and using restraints where necessary, among other random tasks.

Paid Work:
Summer 1998
Electronic Data Systems
Intern
I most recently worked at EDS as an intern. I worked on a computer doing web page development and working with a system called EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) where I exchanged electronic files with suppliers. This required telephoning them regularly and providing technical support for them. I also worked with a group of other interns to produce and present a multimedia presentation to a group of co-workers including our mentors, bosses and peers.

September 1997-June 1998
Michigan Tech Lode
Feature Editor
I edited the Feature Section of the Michigan Tech Lode - a weekly newspaper. My responsibiliteis included: hiring and keeping a writing staff, suggesting article topics, setting deadlines, editing articles, layout and desing of my section on Macintosh Computers, and the final layout on paper.

Summer 1997
Living Science Foundation
Teacher/Office Assistant
There were two parts to this job. For the most part I was essentially a science teacher. I taught basic concepts of science to children (grades K-8) using live exotic animals and interesting experiments in a classroom setting, but a camp environment. The secondary part involved assisting in the office where I set up for upcoming camps, filed papers, reorganized after a major move, and dealt in customer service.

1995-1997
Sunnymede Apartments
Leasing Consultant
This was a position that required "people skills" and management skills. It involved showing and renting out apartments as well as setting and keeping appointments. I had to solve problems presented by current residents and work as part of a large team of employees. It was part of my responsibilty to see that tasks were carried out and residents were kept happy.

Special Skills:
I work well in groups, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and learn quickly. I am cautious, thorough, and have an eye for detail. I am serious about my work, but I always keep a sense of humor and positive attitude while working.
