The summer was filled with awesome music. One day I was listening to the radio, and I heard that Poison was touring again! I have loved Poison ever since I was young, and I was so excited. I got on the web and found out when and where they were playing near me. Just my luck, they were playing at the Starlake Amplitheatre in Pittsburgh PA, 2 and a half hours from me! The only bad thing was they were there over memorial day weekend.

I immediately called up my friends, and figured out who was going and how many tickets we needed to buy. Amanda and I went to the ticket place and bought the tickets. My brother, 3 of my friends, and I were all going. It seemed like the concert was never going to come. Eventually, the long awaited day arrived.

My friends and I had been prepping for the concert weeks in advance. We got every single Poison tape we could find, and that is all we listened to in my car. The day of the concert was no different. I went and picked up my friends, picked my brother up at my house, and we had everything perfectly planned out. We left a little bit early, to try and avoid the holiday traffic. The 5 of us piled into my Shadow and we were off.

The drive was hot, because my car has no A/C, but we got there without too much sweating. We were there 2 hours before the gates opened, so we hung out in the parking lot waiting to enter. I'll tell you one thing, we got an education in that parking lot. You see so many things, so many different types of people, and all kinds of weird stuff going on that you wouldn't normally see in a town as boring as mine. We probably could have done without the parking lot experience, but hey, you live and learn.

Upon entering, you must be searched to weapons, drugs, cameras, and whatever else they don't want you to have. We made it through that, and we walked into the Amplitheatre. We were all in awe as we walked in and looked all around. We were finally there, and we were going to see Poison!

We found our seats, which weren't bad at all, and sat and joked while we waited for the concert to begin. There were 4 bands on the concert slate: LA Guns, Great White, Ratt, and Poison. LA Guns were up first. They were good, but we really didn't know their music. Great White was next. I was really impressed with them. They put on a great show, and I love their music. They played a lot of stuff from their new album, and it was just like thir old stuff. Ratt was next, and the crowd was getting bigger, and more wound up.

After a 20 minute stage change and set up, Poison finally arrived!!! They were just truly amazing. They played everything that we had been listening to for weeks in advance, and we loved every second of it. The crowd was all into it, and we sung at the top of our lungs. It was definatly one of the highlights in my life. I have waited so long to see a concert that was as amazing as this one. I loved every minute of it, and it has only spiced my taste to go see more.
