~LET US SMILE~
~The thing that goes the farthest Toward making life worthwhile,
That cost the least and does the most Is just a pleasant
smile.
That smile that babbles from the heart That loves its fellow men,
Will drive away the clouds of gloom And coax the sun again.
It's full of worth and goodness, too, With manly kindness blent;
It's worth a million dollars, And it doesn't cost a cent.~
~There is no room for sadness When we see a cheery smile; It
always has the same good look; It's never out of style; It nerves
us on to try again When failure makes us blue; The dimples of
encouragement Are good for me and you. It pays the highest
intrest- For it is merely lent; It's worth a milliom dollars, And
it doesn't cost a cent.~
~A smile comes very easy- You can wrinkle up with cheer A hundred
times before You can squeez out a salty tear; It ripples out,
moreover, To the heartstrings that will tug, And always leaves an
echo That is very like a hug. So smile away! Folks understand
What by a smile is meant; It's worth a million dolars, And it
doesn't cost a cent.~

"Hello, your looking good"
~I HAVE LEARNED~...
~I've learned-that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.~
~I've learned-that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.~
I've learned-that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.~
~I've learned-that you can get by on charm for about fifteen
minutes. After that, you'd better know something.~
~I've learned-that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best
others can do but to the best you can do.~
~I've learned-that it is not what happens to people that's
important. It's what they do about it.~
~I've learned-that you can do something in an instant that
will give you heartache for life.~
~I've learned-that no matter how thin you slice it, there are
always two sides.~
~I've learned-that it's taking me a
long time to become the person I want to be.~

think.~

leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time
you see them.~

matter how we feel.~
~I've learned-that either you control
your attitude or it controls you.~
~I've learned-that
regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at
first, the passion fades and there had better be something
else to take its place.~
~I've learned-that heroes are the
people who do what has to be done, when it needs to be
done, regardless of the consequences.~

to be cruel.~

love.~
~I've learned-that just because someone doesn't
love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love

what you've learned from them and less to do with how

you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or
outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy
it would be if they believed it.~

family won't always be there for you. It may seem funny, but
people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you
and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't
biological.~
~I've learned-that no matter how good a
friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a
while and you must forgive them for that.~
~I've
learned-that it isn't always enought to be forgiven by
others. Sometimes you have to learn to learn to forgive
yourself.~

~HAPPINESS IS A JOURNEY~
~We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get
married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that
the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they
are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal
with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that
stage.~
~We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse
gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able
to go on a nice vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's
no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?~
~Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to
admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. One of my
favorite quotes comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said, "For a long
time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin -- real
life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to
be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to
be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last
it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."~
~This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to
happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that
you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone
special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that
time waits for no one. So, stop waiting until you finish school,
until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you
gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the
house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get
married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday
morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home
is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until
winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth,
until your song comes on, until you've had a drink, until you've
sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide
that there is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.~
