~FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE ON THE INTERNET~

~What wonderful friendships we develop on this web of our's. There is no way to explain this to folks not on-line. They look at us like we are crazy. But we know the way we feel about each other.~

~Some have fallen in love sight unseen, and when they meet they know each other so well from writing and chatting knowing the inside first.~

~There is also another type of love on the web that for some reason can never be more then the words on the screen, and the feelings in our heart. This love is just as deep and true.~

~It still amazes me what powerful emotional connections we make on the web. We express our feelings, and trust each other with secrets that our own families don't know.~

~I want to thank the wonderful friends I have made. They have been there for me when my life has turned upside down. They have helped me through some really rough emotional times.~

~For this, I will be eternally grateful. I hope I am there if they need me.~

~A long time ago while I was living in Washington State and a Detective Sargent in the Police Department my wife and I were on webtv and in several very nice discussion groups, there is where we met Mary, we talked with her and many other web friends as well as e-mailed every day learning about each other, our homes, states music, culture, history and hobbies.~

~I could see the younger people in Louisiana were loosing that and did some research and made a page, IN MY HEART I'M A CAJUN. I was presented the second of none Honorary Cajun Award for the page.~

~My wife and I were planning a vacation to Louisiana to visit Mary, other web friends and see the State and buy some Cajun, Zydeco and Swamp Pop music and eat some of their great food. One night I came home from a Lions Club Meeting where I was Zone Chairman and found my 49 year old wife deceased from a heart arithmia, she had never been sick.~

~Anyone who has lost a family member knows what you go through but with my Christian faith and knowing she was with our Lord, Mary and I continued our internet friendship, posting in newsgroups and e-mails confiding in each other and then calling on the phone, she helped me get through my loss and sending me prayers and Bible Scriptures.~

~As time went on we knew everything about each other and our families and I knew I had to visit S.W. Louisiana and Mary and she made plans of places to go things to see and meeting other internet friends. I talked to my family and they thought it was a very good idea to get away and do all the things I had wanted.~

~Here are a few of the poems I sent Mary that she saved.~

~FRIENDSHIP'S ROAD~

~I've a warm and friendly feeling As I think of you today; And I wish that we could visit, But you're many miles away.~

~Separated by such distance, Yet your letters bring you near; Through the miles we share a friendship That's become to me most dear.~

~Friends through correspondence only; Still, your face I need not see For your soul shines through the pages Every time you write to me.~

~You've a special way of writing, Warming as the sunshine rays, Bringing joy and inspiration, Letter brightening up my days.~

~You've enriched my life, my dear one, And I'm glad God willed we meet, "Friendship's Road" is that much nicer Traveling it with one so sweet.~

~SOMEONE I MET ON-LINE~

~I'd like to share a story If you've got the time, This story's true and is about Someone I met on-line.~

~We met the first day I signed on Seems many years ago, I had a new computer then And so little did I know.~

~I wandered to a chat room Hoping for conversation, What I found was eye-opening A computer education.~

~Oh yes, the folks were chatting Typing things like "LOL", I didn't know the phrase back then But now I know it well.~

~They seemed to be conversing About a "wave" they'd sent, I tried so hard to keep up But I didn't know what they meant,~

~Someone there was very nice And helped to walk me through, Sending me an e-mail With instructions what to do.~

~That was how it started There's been many "waves" since then, More important, what I found Was a very special friend.~

~We began to chat most every day He shared the on-line things he knew, And as the time kept passing by Our friendship grew and grew.~

~Three years plus would come to pass Before his face I'd actually see, You see, we weren't compatible At least not geographically.~

~I lived on the west coast And he lived on the east, The distance separating us Was a thousand miles, at least.~

~Eventually we did meet It seemed it was out fate, And to think it started with a "wave" Aren't computers great!~

~Well, I sure think that mine is I know it changed my life Six years after that first chat, I became his wife.~

~I left out lots of details I'll share those another time, Just remember anything's possible When you meet someone on-line.~

~This poem was written and copywrited in 2006 by Carol Gough, who was very pleased to give me permission to use it on this page as it is so close to my life. Mary and my sixth Anniversary is on October 27th.2006~

~SOMEWHERE THERE'S AN ANGEL~

~A Special Holiday Blessing to Remember Through the Year Somewhere there's an angel. Just waiting in the wings for you. Keeping a loving lookout and helping to see you through.~

~You'll have the blessing of an angel behind the scenes of your days, there to catch any tears that fall and here for you always.~

~The sweetest reassurance as the year ahead unfolds is to know in your heart that you're never alone.~

~And it's such a comfort to know... that your smile will always shine bright in your life, along with the blessing of beautiful things. Because somewhere you have an angel... just waiting in the wings.~

~Author Unknown~

~MUSIC TO MY HEART~

~Your words embraced my soul, the first moment that we met You seemed to reach and touch me, across the vast Internet.!

~I didn't have to see your face or know that you were far Your words are music to my heart, no matter where you are.~

~You lift my spirits when I'm down, and listen when I'm sad No matter what the reason is, you always make me glad.~

~The bond between us seems to grow, each time that we speak You listen to the music of my heart, every time we meet.~

~Without your presence every day, I would be so lonely You've added beauty to my life and you didn't even know me.~

~I play the music of my heart and pray that you can hear Your friendship means so much to me, just knowing that you care.~

~Author Unknown~

~LOVE IS LIKE A FLOWER~

~Love is like a flower, you nurture it from a seed, everyday you take the time to take care of it's needs.~

~Love is like a flower, it's the beauty of our soul, when it turns into a beautiful flower, you know that you reached your goal.~

~Love is like a flower, it blossoms my love for you, my love for you is never ending and always will be true.~

~Love is like a flower, we each are on our way, and I'll always be here for you each and everyday.~

~Love is like a flower, a rose I give to you, its tender fresh pedals, will never make you blue.~

~Love is like a flower, my love for you it grows, take and tenderly hold me, and never let me go.~

~Love is like a flower, our friendship will never end, so be careful with me, for my pedals they will bend.~

~Love is like a flower, you're always in my heart, I knew we would be real good friends, right from the start.~

~Arrival At Louisiana~

~I had brought along Champaign I got in France to celibrate our meeting in person.~

~We drove to Floyd"s World Famous Record Shop where I bought many Cajun Music CDs to take home.~

~We went for a mile walk on the Nature Trail through a Bayou.~

~And looked at a lot of baby alligators, their mother was watching in the mud beyond.~

~I ate in my first Cajun Restaurant, 3 pounds of boiled crawfish.~

~We went to a cajun dance at the VFW and I learned to dance all over again.~

~ While in Louisiana I kept in contact with my family and friends on Mary's webtv and soon it was time to go home. But not befor making plans to talk to my family, put my house up for sale, retire and move back to Louisiana to marry Mary my "Cajun Queen."~

~How sad it was waiting at the airport to go back home.~

~After I got back to Washington State and home I continued to talk to her on webtv and call by phone one to two times a day. And get my life in order to plan my big move. As time went on I sent Mary these poems.~

~Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and fans the bonfire.~

~La Rochefoucauld~

~OUR LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL~

~We knew it from the start I see it in your eyes You can feel it from my heart from here on after. Lets stay the way we are right now and share all love and laughter that a lifetime will allow.~

~I cross my heart and promise to give all I've got to give to make all your dreams come true In all the world You'll never find a love as true as mine.~

~You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete and as long as there's a breath in me I`ll make yours just as sweet. As we look into the future It's as far as we can see so let's make tomorrow the best as it can be.~

~And if along the way we find a day It starts to storm you've got the promise of my love to keep you warm. In all the world you'll never find a love as true as mine.~

Song by George Straight

~Mary my heart is full of love for you you are in my heart to stay forever, even if you are far away or close, my heart keeps beating with every thought that sends to my heart a message that says "Our Love Is Unconditional And Pure Like Above."~

~This little heart grows everytime I look at you, a happy heart is knowing you cause you're the twinkle of my eye, the hand that has the most gentle touch assured feelings that our love will surely last a lifetime.~

~Words never fail to say "I LOVE YOU" our hearts are entwined, never to part, but only gather in strength each day we spend apart. Oh what a sweet heart you have dancing with every beat to the tune of love that is so rare.~

~The song above tells it like it is.~

Lloyd

~WHEN I FELL IN LOVE~

~When I fell in love with you that very day, I knew it was true. The love I found in you, I knew I never wanted to lose.~

~You mean far more than any words could say I wish I knew exactly why I feel this way. My love for you grows stronger every day. I hate the times when you are away.~

~When we talk I hate to say, "Goodbye" I would do anything for you to show you my love is true. I feel lucky to have someone like you. My love for you will never die, this I know is true, because my place in life is right beside you.~

~by Jessica J.Lanphear~

~FOREVER ON MY MIND~

~The fragrance of a yellow rose Floating about the air, Reminds me of another time, And of a beauty so rare.~

~The melodic strains of an orchestra Wisping through the night, Remind me of another time, And so of a lovely sight.~

~Remembrance such as these Flood my thoughts with rhyme And I can not help but long for The song of another time.~

~A time when life made sense to me, When love was everywhere; When you and I would dance and dance While your fragrance filled the air.~

~Such memories consume me, And they constantly remind; That you, my sweet, are in my heart And forever on my mind.~

~Author Unknown~

~MY LOVE~

~Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss If you are my love, please answer this:~

~Are we In love, or are we not? You told me once but I forgot. So tell me now and tell me true. So I can say "I'm here for you."~

~Of all the friends I've ever met, You're the one I won't forget. And if I die before you do, I'll go to heaven and wait for you.~

~I'll give the angels back their wings And risk the loss of everything. Just to prove my love is true and to have a love like you!~

~OUR LOVE~

~Just like our love so tender that we share this very day It grows and grows each moment that we spend along the way.~

~Our love is something special with depth beyond compare Intertwining soul felt thoughts the two of us now share.~

~KEEPER OF THE STARS~

~It was no accident, me finding you  Someone had a hand in it  Long before we ever knew  Now I just can't believe you're in my life Heaven's smilin' down on me  As I look at you tonight And the keeper of the stars.~

~I tip my hat  To the keeper of the stars  He sure knew what he was doin'  When he joined these two hearts  I hold everything with you When I hold you in my arms  I've got all I'll ever need  Thanks to the keeper of the stars.~

~Soft moonlight on your face  Oh how you shine  It takes my breath away  Just to look into your eyes  I know I don't deserve  A treasure like you  There really are no words  To show my gratitude. To the keeper of the stars I tip my hat.~

~To the keeper of the stars He sure knew what he was doin'  When he joined these two hearts  I hold everything with you When I hold you in my arms  I've got all I'll ever need  Thanks to the keeper of the stars.~

~It was no accident me finding you  Someone had a hand in it  Long before we ever knew.~

~DO YOU REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU MEAN TO ME?~

~Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night shivering from fright feeling empty feeling nothing because I think about how it would be if you weren't here.~

~And then I wonder if you really know how very much you mean to me how incredible I think you are how you are a part of all my emotions how you are the deepest meaning in my life.~

~Please always know that I love you more than anything else in the world.~

~Poem By Susan Polis Schutz~

~MARY SAYS YES~

~Once upon a time there was a Cajun Queen named Dell, we met on the internet and fell in love before our time.~

~We wrote and we wrote and soon I was caught in her web of love, I learned her name was Mary and asked her to marry.~

~And they lived happily everafter~

~After your e-mail responce I will say goodbye and call you to get your answer.~ (I did and she WILL.)

~A PROMISE~

~You are both making a promise a pledge a vow to each other. This is a happy time for you both You are sure of the love you have for one another.~

~Wanting to make a life together Needing to be individuals but also to be a part of one another. You have the strength, the love and the respect for each other to make it all happen.~

~On the days when you have problems Please take time out to reflect on how you both felt at the beginning of your promise.~

~Then you know you will have the strength and love to make it through the most difficult of times.~

~YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW~

~Cherished are the memories that Brought us to this day, For yesterday, was just a dream A wish to contemplate.~

~A fantasy where in my mind, A fleeting glimpse I'd see ... A vision of the true desires I longed for endlessly.~

~And when I dreamed, I did not know The love I'd feel today; The height of my true feelings, And the depths they would portray.~

~And if I had one wish today, A simple wish t'would be ... Is that the love we feel this moment, Lasts eternally.~

~Reality has merged now As you stand here by my side; And as I join your hand in mine, My heart does fill with pride.~

~For as I pledge my love to you, I see in many ways, Reflections of my love for you Are mirrored in your gaze.~

~And by our presence here today, And for the love we share, I thank you for our yesterdays That brought us to be here.~

But more than this, I vow to you, My wishes yet to come ... Tomorrow's dreams and fantasies, This day that we are one.~

~Tomorrow's an adventure That we'll share together now; Our future's intertwined forever, Through this holy vow.~

~I promise to remember In the future years and days, The love I feel for you this moment Dreams fulfilled today.~

~For in the coming years as we Move on, and reminisce, Back to the day I stood with you, And promised with a kiss.~

That blessed are the days that ~I have looked into your eyes, And felt the warmth and love reflect, The essence of our lives.~

~DREAMS~

~Some people struggle to hang on to thier dreams, Grasping and clawing to hold them in thier grasp. This is what makes their lives important it seems. Strangling chain around their neck without clasp.~

~I found the greatest gift, and no longer yearn, realized a dream, that now can't control my life. I now have a love that will forever burn, Yes, I found my dream and I made her my wife.~

~IF I KNEW~

~If I knew it would be the last time That I'd see you fall asleep, I would tuck you in more tightly And pray the Lord, your soul to keep.~

~If I knew it would be the last time That I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss And call you back for just one more.~

~If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word So I could play them back day after day.~

~If I knew it would be the last time I could spare an extra minute, To stop and say "I love you" Instead of assuming you know I do.~

~If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, Well I'm sure you'll have so many more So I can let just this one slip away.~

~For surely there's always tomorrow To make up for an oversight, And we always get a second chance To make everything just right.~

~There will always be another day To say "I love you" And certainly there's another chance To say our "Anything I can do?"~

~But just in case I might be wrong And today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you And I hope we never forget.~

~Tomorrow is not promised To anyone young or old alike, And today may be the last chance You get to hold your loved one tight.~

~So if you're waiting for tomorrow Why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes You'll surely regret the day.~

~That you didn't take that extra time For a smile, a hug, or a kiss, And you were too busy to grant someone What turned out to be their one last wish.~

~So hold your loved ones close today And whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them And that you'll always hold them dear.~

~Take time to say "I'm sorry" "Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay." And if tomorrow never comes You'll have no regrets about today.~
