Why does God let there be sin on earth? This is a very good question. First of all, I will like to share with you how I came about to find the answer to this tough question. This goes to show that God is real, and He does work!… I looked in the Bible for some scriptures that may have talked about this subject. I searched and searched. Then I decided to watch a tape in which I earlier recorded some preachers talking on a Christian channel. I didn’t watch it yet, and I decided to see what was on it. Well! Was I in for a surprise. The Lord gave me the answer to the question I was searching for. I found out that Mr. Richard Stanley, a preacher, directly addressed this question in his sermon. Coincidence? I don’t think so. It is a little sign that God is working, and giving answers to the questions His children ask. Although, dear friend, understand this! God doesn’t always answer questions. Some questions are not meant to be answered. Some things, only God can understand… but when we are heaven, with our Father, we will know all of the answers to life’s questions. I got this information from a tape from Mr. Richard Stanley. I think is a great preacher, and very wise. First I will give you verses. Then I will give you my answer. You can relate these verses to the answer. Psalms 103:19 is: God has set up his kingdom in heaven, and he rules the whole creation. Genesis 2:16-17 is: 16 But the Lord told him, “You may eat fruit from any tree in the garden, 17 except the one that has the power to let you know the difference between right and wrong. If you eat any fruit from that tree, you will die before the day is over!” Isaiah 14:12-15 is: 12 You, the bright morning star, have fallen from the sky! You brought down other nations; now you are brought down. 13 You said it yourself, “I’ll climb to heaven and place my throne above the highest stars. I’ll sit there with the gods far away in the north. 14 I’ll be above the clouds, just like God Most High.” 15 But now you are deep in the world of the dead. 2 Peter 2:4 is: God did not have pity on the angels that sinned. He had them tied up and thrown into the dark pits of hell until the time of judgement. Deuteronomy 29:29 is: The Lord our God hasn’t explained the present or the future, but he has commanded us to obey the laws he gave to us and our descendants. Satan is a fallen angel who was cast down to earth. God created man so he can express his love and also receive love in return. In order for this love from man to be genuine, or real, man must have the freedom to choose. To choose to love him or not. To choose to obey or disobey. They must have the possibility of making choices, or else man would be “robots”. The “tree that lets you know the difference between right and wrong” was put in the garden to be a “Testing Ground”. It was to see if Adam and Eve really loved God. God doesn’t force love. God doesn’t force people to sin also. Question: If Adam and Eve didn’t sin would we have a perfect race? Answer: This is a question God does not answer. He doesn’t need to, because man did sin, and we have to deal with it. You may think that man has a free will. Adam and Eve were the only people with a “totally free will”. We have a “limited free will”. (If man could do anything they wanted, then how would this world be? It is bad enough when the world has a “limited free will”!) God did not create evil. He allows it. If he didn’t create evil then what is his relationship with evil? 3 ways God deals with sin: 1) God allows sin to run it’s full course. Read Psalm 81:10-14 and Romans 1:24-28 2) God stops sin dead. God puts a stop to it. Read Genesis 20:1-6 and 2 Chronicles 20:23-24 3) God limits the degree to which one of us can be tempted so that we can deal with sin. Read Job 1:9-12. The devil had limits on what he could do to Job. Read Job 2:5-6 and 1 Corinthians 10:13. God makes a way for you to escape from sin. God puts a limitation on sin, but only on children of God. God doesn’t put a limitation on sin for the “Lost”. God uses things in our life, all things (whether good or bad), to work for the good. Read Romans 8:28. God uses hurt, pain, and sorrow to work for the good. We don’t understand why God let’s bad things happen to work out for the good. God doesn’t do bad things, but He allows bad things to happen for the good. Read Jonah 1:1-3 and 2:1-3 and 2:10-3:4. Sometimes God uses evil people to accomplish his purpose. Read Genesis 42. It is about Joseph. I hope that these verses, and the answer to this difficult question have been answered for you. Please let me know on how this has impacted you! GOD IS IN CONTROL!
